Anna Ruth Rhine was born on Christmas day in 1920. She never married nor had any children of her own, but she devoted her life to children as the school librarian.
Ms. Anna was a loyal supporter of BCHFS and loved it when members of our staff would come to visit. She often spoke about how grateful she was to have been raised by such loving parents and would cry as she remembered the time her family got to meet the children at the Carmi Orphanage. Those visits sparked a life-long passion in her heart for improving the lives of hurting children.
Ms. Anna Ruth Rhine passed away in 2008. Our staff was unaware that BCHFS had been listed as a beneficiary of her estate and astonished to learn that her bequest was the largest individual gift we have ever received! Though Ms. Anna is now home with the Lord, she will continue to impact the lives of children and families far into the future because of the legacy she chose to leave.
In her honor, BCHFS has created the Anna Ruth Rhine Legacy Society as a way to recognize not only her but all of those who choose to invest in the lives of children and families through their estate planning.
Let us Say Thanks!
“We should give roses while people are living.” Too often we don’t find out that someone has included Baptist Children’s Home and Family Services in their estate plans until after the donor is deceased. We would like to be able to thank you while you are still with us!
Have your name memorialized with a personalized leaf on the Legacy Society Tree.
